About the Cover Artist

New York-born Greg Giegucz is a multimedia artist living and working in New Orleans. He arrived in New Orleans from Memphis in August 2006. Fascinated with the idea of buildings and cities as living organisms, he came to post-Katrina New Orleans to study displacement and to live in a radically changing city with life and death harshly juxtaposed. He is a founding member of the Greater New Orleans Artist Mansion and is a part time instructor of art at the New Orleans Artworks Studio School.

He describes his work as a personal journal of illustrated characters and symbols guided by memory and intuition. His art is a response to an unbalanced and fragmented world of human discourse and a personal attempt at finding a place within it.
