National Legal Writing Competition Opportunities

The 2o12 Tannewald Writing Competition

Deadline:  July 3, 2012
Topic:  Papers on any federal or state tax-related topic may be submitted in accordance with the Competition Rules (viewable at www.tannenwald.org)

The Center for Human Rights at Trinity Law School Annual Writing Competition

Deadline:  April 15, 2012

Topic:  Scholarly papers must address the issue of "A Christian's Response to Human Rights."  Papers may consider addressing issues of the source of Human Rights, the nature of Human Rights, why it matters if Human Rights have a religious or secular basis, how Human Rights are (or should be) protected and enforced, religion's role in protecting Human RIghts, etc.  Scholars are not bound by these suggestions and are encouraged to thoroughly address the topic in a manner that est addresses the pertinent issues.

International Humanitarian Law Student Writing Competition

Deadline:  February 15, 2012
Topic:  Students may choose a topic within the scope of international humanitarian law.

The 2012 Richard D. Cudahy Writing Competition on Regulatory and Administrative Law

Deadline:  February 10, 2012

Topic:  Submissions should be related to regulatory or administrative law, broadly construed.  Appropriate subjects include empirical or comparative analyses of the effectiveness of specific regulatory regimes or of deregulation, doctrinal investigations of the development of administrative law rules or principles by courts and adminsitrative agencies and the effects of that development, and normative analyses of how particular regulatory or administrative regimes or deregulation advance or fail to advance values of fairness, participation, and transparency.
Format
:  A wide range of formats are eligble and encouraged, from traditional full-length law review articles to less academic, lightly footnoted essays written to be accessible to a wide audience.  Submissions should be less than 25,000 words.  Shorter submissions are strongly encouraged.

The Center for Health & Pharmaceutical Law & Policy:  Healthcare Compliance Certification Program 2012 Health Law Student Scholarship

Deadline:  February 10, 2012
Eligibility:  The nominee shall be a 2L or 3L student currently enrolled in an accredited North American law school on a full or part-time basis who, through his or her law school academic and clinical work and other related activities, demonstrates an aptitude for and commitment to a legal career in health care law within the pharmaceutical, biotech and/or medical technology industries.
