Become engaged in the life of your law school
As members of a diverse and vibrant alumni community, you can help shape the law school’s present and future by getting involved in the life of your school. There are many ways to do so:
Admission Ambassadors
The Alumni Ambassador program allows admitted students to contact graduates with questions about their law school experiences and the legal profession.
Alumni Mentorship Program
Current mentoring opportunities at SU School of Law are organized by multiple offices-Admissions, Alumni Relations, Student Affairs and the Center for Professional Development-and are designed to connect alumni with both current students and alumni colleagues. The newest program has been conceived of and designed by the Recent Alumni Committee, a mentor program for alumni by alumni. As is the case for all of the mentoring opportunities, it is not expected that the relationship you build with your mentee lead to a job offer, rather this is an opportunity for seasoned legal practitioners to share their wealth of experience and knowledge with current students or alumni who could benefit from such knowledge. To get involved, please complete the Mentorship Application and submit it to the Office of Alumni Relations.
Law Alumni Board
The Law Alumni Board (LAB) serves as an advisory body to the dean of the school and the Office of Alumni Relations. Made up of members of the alumni body who have made a commitment to advance the mission of the law school, LAB serves to engage alumni in support of Seattle University School of Law’s mission of educating outstanding lawyers who are leaders for a just and humane world. The LAB advises the Office of Alumni Relations on initiatives and activities designed to strengthen relationships in building an inclusive law school community of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends.
Recent Alumni Committee
The Recent Alumni Committee was created to provide alumni, who have completed their academic program within the past 15 years the opportunity to build upon the networks they created while in law school. The committee serves to maintain a sense of connection with alumni colleagues and faculty while facilitating an exchange of ideas and career networking opportunities.
Regional Alumni Program
For those of you who can’t make it back to campus, SU School of Law is coming to your neighborhood. The Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to offer distinguished speakers, events and social gatherings for alumni in your area. We hope you will consider serving as a regional alumni representative on a committee that will work with the Office of Alumni Relations on programming. Regional committees provide an opportunity for alumni to maintain connections to alumni colleagues in various regions of the country, while advancing the mission of the school. We also encourage regional committees to join us in hosting receptions to welcome prospective and incoming students to the law school community.
For more information about getting involved, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
