Jeffrey Ferriell

Visiting Professor of Law

Biography

Professor Ferriell is a Professor of Law at Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. He joined the Capital faculty in 1987. He teaches Contracts, Bankruptcy, Secured Transactions, and Payment Systems. Before coming to Capital, Professor Ferriell was a tenured Professor of Law at Ohio Northern University. He has been a Visiting Professor at Santa Clara, San Diego, and Ohio State, and a law teaching fellow at Illinois. His areas of research are Contracts, Bankruptcy, and the Uniform Commercial Code. He is the co-author of two law school hornbooks: "Understanding Contracts" (2004, with the late Michael Navin) and "Understanding Bankruptcy" (2d ed. 2007, with Edward J. Janger). In 2007, he was appointed as one of Ohio's representatives to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL).

He is the National Moot Court Team Advisor for the law schools at Ohio Northern University and Capital University. He received the Capital University Law School BLSA Martin Luther King Image Award.
