Law Firm Alumni Challenge 2008-09

The Law Firm Alumni Challenge is a new initiative of Seattle University School of Law. Graduates at firms and organizations that employ more than two law alumni encourage their alumni coworkers to make personal gifts to the School of Law in an effort to reach 100 percent participation.

Letter from the Founding Chair

I am proud to lend my support to The Law Firm Alumni Challenge - a new initiative of Seattle University School of Law. I strongly believe in our mission - to educate outstanding lawyers who are leaders for a just and humane world - and I very much value my connection to the School of Law as a university trustee, faculty member, and friend and member of the legal community.

The school's innovative curriculum, the broad outreach of its centers and institutes, and our outstanding faculty and students make huge contributions here in Seattle and in the world. We indeed have much to be proud of and much to support, both financially and otherwise.

Seattle University School of Law has a richly diverse and growing alumni community. Of the more than 9,000 alumni, many are actively engaged in the life of the law school, serving as mentors, judges, teachers, advocates and supporters. The Law Alumni Board is providing leadership to our vibrant alumni community, and the launch of this challenge is one more way in which alumni are invited to participate in helping shape the future success of SU Law.

The structure of the Challenge is simple. Alumni within each firm are asked to support the School of Law through their individual gifts to the school's Annual Fund for Excellence, which helps provide students with a first-rate legal education emphasizing academic excellence and education for justice. Firms engage in a friendly competition to reach 100 percent participation in alumni giving. Six firms with the largest number of law alumni will participate in this year's launch of the Challenge. View the list of firms and check back frequently to track the Challenge.

The benefits of this initiative, for both the school and its alumni, are many but key is forging a stronger relationship, and we are grateful to our alumni and friends at each of the firms who are providing leadership in this new initiative. Thank you for partnering with SU Law to raise the profile of the school and the firms at which you are invested.
