Major and Special Gifts
Gifts to Seattle University School of Law can satisfy both your philanthropic and financial goals. We would be pleased to discuss with you the variety of options and numerous ways in which you can help support your areas of interest and the goals and vision of Seattle University School of Law.
Gifts may be designated for either endowment or current, immediate use.
Endowments provide financial stability for the School of Law and enable us to attract, retain and support forever our outstanding students and faculty. Top priorities include scholarships and faculty support. Examples include:
- Faculty chairs: $2.5 million
- Professorships: $500,000
- Visiting Professorships: $350,000
- Scholarships: $50,000 minimum to establish a named scholarship
Current, immediate needs include funds to support faculty, students and programs. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:
- scholarships
- faculty support and scholarship
- our law library
- global education
- centers and institutes including the Access to Justice Institute, which provides students with pro bono and public interest opportunities
- our Ronald A. Peterson Law Clinic
- student organizations and initiatives
- and so much more.
Ways to give
Assets
There are many creative ways in which various assets, other than cash or stock, can be used to make a gift. A few examples of assets that can be used to fulfill philanthropic priorities include securities, real estate, life insurance and retirement plans.
Gift Planning Vehicles
There are many creative vehicles that may be attractive in your gift planning. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Bequests
- Life-income vehicles
- Charitable Gift Annuities
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
- Charitable Lead Trusts
Gifts to honor and in memory of
We welcome gifts made in memory of or in honor of alumni, faculty or other individuals. Such gifts may be directed to specific purposes.
