Whether you started with Criminal Law this summer or are waiting until fall, come August, the entire first-year class will be fully immersed in law school. You have arrived at this point by many different paths, and you will leave here with plans for equally diverse careers. What you will share is the experience of your time at the Law School and your place in our community. Our Orientation program is intended to help you both to learn and to establish what that community will mean for you.
You will have the opportunity to hear from your first year faculty, meet the student services staff, learn survival tips from upper-level students, and of course, take care of a little administrative business. And for those of you who did not take Criminal Law this summer, we will offer an "Introduction to Legal Learning Workshop" that should make your first day of class a little easier.
On Thursday, August 21, all day students are required to attend the 2014 Orientation program. Students should expect to start the day at 9:00 am. The program should be completed by 4:30. There will be a separate program for part-time evening students that evening. You will receive a full schedule of events later this summer.
Those of you who did not take Criminal Law class this summer should plan to attend the Introduction to Legal Learning Workshop on Friday, August 22, 2014. There will also be time to take care of business: obtain a password for Lexis and Westlaw, get a locker, campus identification card, etc. The program will begin Friday morning and will last until mid afternoon. Again, you will receive a schedule later this summer.
Please mark your calendars!
