Admission Requirements

In determining those applicants who will be admitted to the School of Law, the Admission Committee considers three primary factors:

  1. Performance on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
  2. Undergraduate academic record
  3. Personal accomplishments.

At least two evaluators review each application. In all cases, the statistical profile still weighs heavily in a competitive applicant pool. These might include exceptional professional achievements, outstanding community service, and/or evidence of particular talents or backgrounds that will contribute specially and significantly to the law school community.

Seattle University embraces a wholly nondiscriminatory admission policy and philosophy. We welcome applications from all persons without regard to age, gender, race, religion, national origin, marital status, sexual or political orientation, or disability.

As a candidate for admission, you must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university prior to your enrollment. In addition, you must have received a competitive score on the LSAT and have registered with the LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (LCAS). You should submit required application materials (see Application Process) at the earliest possible date after they are available and complete your applicant file no later than March 1 (priority deadline) of the year you wish to attend. As a rolling admission school, we begin accepting applications in the fall. Application materials are available in early fall.
