Visiting the Law School
Visiting the law school is the best way to find out if Seattle University School of Law is the best fit for you. We can arrange for you to tour the law school, meet with professors and students, attend classes and talk to financial services representatives. You have several options:
To set up an appointment in the Admission Office, please call (206) 398.4200 or (800) 471.1767 to schedule a time and date that is convenient for you. We value the opportunity to sit down with prospective students and encourage you to come in and talk with us if you have any questions about the application process, curriculum, faculty, our mission or anything else. Please call to set up an appointment between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Evening appointments are available by request.
If you are not able to come in person for an appointment, you may schedule a phone appointment by contacting our office at one of the numbers listed above or via e-mail. Just as with an in person appointment, during your session, you can think aloud with a counselor, seek advice, or ask for information. Your appointment is a time for you; use it as you like. Phone appointments are available each Wednesday at 11 and 11:30 a.m. PST.
Please note the Office of Admission will be closed the following days:
September 1st, November 11th, November 27th, 28th, December 22nd-January 1st, January 19th, February 16th, April 3rd. Spring Break is March 16th-20th and there are no classes visits.
Tour Sullivan Hall
There are two ways to see Sullivan Hall, a self-guided tour or walking with a current student. Both begin at the Admission Office. All aspects of Sullivan Hall are highlighted. If you prefer a guide over the self-guided option, please call to set up an appointment.
During the academic year we offer tours of Sullivan Hall on select Saturdays. This popular event provides you with the opportunity to get the "inside scoop" on the Seattle University experience. Current students will address your questions, concerns, fears, and curiosity on what it means to apply to law school and survive and enjoy it.
Visit a 1L Class
What better way is there to find out what law school is about than sitting in on a class? Class visits are only available fall and spring semesters, and classes typically end the last week of April. We offer class visits every day of the week. Give us a call and we will be happy to schedule your visit.
Learn about Student Financial Services
Please call (206) 398.4250 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to make your individual appointment.
Open House Programs
Small Group Q & A
The Office of Admission holds these informal gatherings with a maximum of 30 prospective candidates in the fall, spring and summer. These provide an intimate opportunity to chat with an Admissions staff member in a small group setting. The events usually begin with light hors d’oeuvres, a tour of Sullivan Hall, and then an hour of answering your legal education questions, no matter the specific topic.
Application Process Procedures
Whether you are considering full or part-time studies, this program is designed to address general questions and specific concerns you may have about the law school and the application process, and give you the opportunity for an up close look at Sullivan Hall. This event is typically held on a Saturday morning in October. Current students, faculty, and Financial Aid staff will be available to talk with you.
Graduate Fairs on Main Campus
Graduate Student Open Houses are held three times a year on campus for students interested in law school or any of the university’s 30 graduate programs. The program is informal, so people make stay for as long as they like. Watch our website for updates, or call the Graduate Admission Office at (206) 296.5800 for more information.
Throughout the year, the School of Law will either host or co-host special events on the campus or in the community. For instance, each February, the School of Law hosts an annual Minority Recruitment Event in conjunction with the LSAC National Minority Recruitment Month geared toward high school students. Please check our Web site often to find out about this and other wonderful opportunities.
