Become engaged in the life of your law school
As members of a diverse and vibrant alumni community, you can help shape the law school’s present and future by getting involved in the life of your school. There are many ways to do so:
The Alumni Ambassador program allows admitted students to contact graduates with questions about their law school experiences and the legal profession. Email Whitney Earles, director of outreach and communication, in Admissions to sign-up.
Alumni/3L Mentorship Pilot Program
The law school is launching a structured 8-month mentorship pilot program, which will commence in September 2013, pairing 3L students with alumni mentors. The program's goal is to assist students in developing key skills while fostering healthy relationships with mentors. Mentors and mentees will receive assistance in setting goals and developing constructive mentoring relationships.
The program requires an 8-month commitment but the time you spend monthly is completely at your discretion. We do not expect this time commitment to exceed two hours per month. If you are interested in the program, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: name, field of law you practice, and your contact information (phone, email and physical address). Questions should be directed to the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund.
Law Alumni Board
The Law Alumni Board (LAB) serves as an advisory body to the dean of the school and the Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Fund. Made up of members of the alumni body who have made a commitment to advance the mission of the law school, LAB serves to engage alumni in support of Seattle University School of Law’s mission of educating outstanding lawyers who are leaders for a just and humane world. The LAB advises the alumni office on initiatives and activities designed to strengthen relationships in building an inclusive law school community of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends.
Regional Alumni Program
We are pleased to offer networking events, social gatherings, and other programming for our alumni. While most events take place in or around Sullivan Hall, we are excited to plan regional events throughout the country where alumni are living and working. Please let us know if you would consider serving as a regional alumni representative on a committee, organized by the alumni relations office, to help the law school maintain connections to the alumni community while advancing the mission of the school. Regional events also serve to assist us in welcoming prospective and incoming students to the law school community.
For more information about getting involved, please contact the Alumni Relations office.
