Benefits for Alumni
Seattle University School of Law treasures our alumni and we are pleased to offer benefits and programs designed to further your legal career and continue your involvement with the law school.
Center for Professional Development
CPD services are available to law school alumni, and include access to job postings, resume and cover letter review, career counseling, and mock interviews. CPD staff serve alumni through in-person, phone, or e-mail contact. Please visit the alumni section of the CPD site.
Consistent with the School of Law's mission to prepare students committed to service in the public interest, the law school operates a Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) to assist law graduates who choose full-time public interest legal careers. For more information on this important program, visit our LRAP Web site.
Attorney and nationally recognized expert Heather Jarvis presented "Managing Your Student Loan Debt and Focusing on What Matters" at a recent program in Sullivan Hall. View her presentation on our Media Law site.
Continuing Legal Education
The School of Law offers live and on-demand CLE programs at a reduced rate for all alumni. The CLE Department is committed to providing live programs both in-person and over the web that are engaging and provide the practical information you need. Currently CLE is also expanding the range of recorded programs available throughout the year for on-demand viewing (also available at a discounted price for all alumni). Look for an email on the roll-out of the Fall CLE catalog with live and on-demand programs on the CLE webpage.
Sidebar Happy Hour Series
Visit the Alumni Events and Programs page to learn about upcoming dates for our Sidebar Happy Hours. Organized throughout Puget Sound and regionally, these social events provide an opportunity for you to connect with alumni, friends, and the law school.
Library and Legal Research Resources
All alumni have lifetime library privileges, including borrowing privileges. Graduates enjoy complete access not only to the print collection, but also to our extensive microfilm and government document collections. Laptop and notebook computers may be used throughout the library; all carrels and tables in the facility are wired with power and internet access. The library’s public terminals also provide internet access and access to non-restricted databases. Visit the library Web site.
Order a Transcript
Do you need a transcript for a job application, a bar application, or personal reasons? The Registrar's Office is pleased to provide one for you, normally within 48 hours. The cost for official transcripts is $5. You can request a transcript via e-mail from your SU account only, or you can download the order form online and fax or mail it to the law school.
Complimentary Course Audits
Our law graduates may audit up to a total of six credit hours of law school classes free of charge. Course enrollment is on a space-available basis and subject to instructor's approval. In some cases the Washington State Bar Association grants CLE credits for such enrollment. For a listing of course offerings for the next term, go to the academics page.
