As members of a diverse and vibrant alumni community, we hope you will become engaged in shaping the law school’s present and future by contributing and getting involved in the life of your school.
The Law Alumni Board (LAB), including leading members of the alumni body who have made a commitment to advance the mission of the law school, serves as an advisory body to the dean of the school and the Office of Alumni Relations. Established to engage alumni in support of Seattle University School of Law’s mission of educating outstanding lawyers who are leaders for a just and humane world, the LAB advises the Office of Alumni Relations on initiatives and activities designed to strengthen relationships in building an inclusive law school community of alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends.
For those of you who can’t make it back to campus, SU School of Law is coming to your neighborhood. The Office of Alumni Relations is pleased to offer distinguished speakers, events and social gatherings for alumni in your area. We hope you will consider serving as a regional alumni representative on a committee that will work with the Office of Alumni Relations on programming. Regional committees provide an opportunity for alumni to maintain connections to alumni colleagues in various regions of the country, while advancing the mission of the school. We also encourage regional committees to join us in hosting receptions to welcome prospective and incoming students to the law school community.
Become an admission ambassador! Approximately 240 graduates volunteer each year to talk with selected candidates for admission from across the country. In addition, they may attend recruitment receptions and/or otherwise assist the law school in cultivating “priority” admission prospects.
Throughout the year, the Office of Alumni Relations offers workshops and seminars, featuring prominent leaders and scholars, to engage alumni, students and faculty in discourse related to our mission and the legal practice. We hope you will consider registering with our office’s newly established Speakers Bureau.
For more information about getting involved and/or to nominate someone to the Law Alumni Board, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations.
