Public Interest

Welcome to the public interest portal for Seattle University School of Law’s Center for Professional Development. Seattle University strongly believes that a healthy and robust community needs attorneys that are committed to social justice. Some of the happiest, most fulfilled attorneys are people that have committed their careers to serving the public good! Public interest careers offer the opportunity to work with people sharing your commitment to certain goals and a willingness to work to achieve them.

Everyone has their own definition for “public interest”. We take a very broad view of public interest, including all legal service providers that serve the general public in a social justice capacity. This includes those working in legal aid, government, social-action organizations, not-for-profit agencies, and other environments benefiting underserved people or causes.

CPD’s Public Interest website is located at: www.law.seattleu.edu/publicinterest.
