This seminar addresses the management of deal flow and provides a guide through the process by which solicited and unsolicited opportunities are evaluated.
Investors and businesses are looking more and more to Indian Country as a means to generate outsized returns and/or expand business operations across new territories. This shift is forcing tribes across the country to evaluate an expanding flow of deals that cross the desks of tribal council members, business enterprise executives and individuals/groups within the tribal community. Deal flow is a good sign of the growing outside interest in Indian Country, but tribal leadership must be diligent in their analysis of opportunities. This seminar will address both the management of deal flow and ultimately guide you through a process by which solicited and unsolicited opportunities are evaluated. Sometimes the best deal is no deal, but when the right opportunity presents itself, tribes will benefit by being prepared well in advance of the opportunity.
Chad R. Wright has been the CEO of Marine View Ventures, Inc. (“MVV”) for the past 3 years and during that time has participated in the execution and implementation of the SSA/MVV Container Terminal Agreement and the SSA/MVV/Puyallup Tribe/Port of Tacoma Agreement. He also successfully restructured MVV, positioning it to be a market leader within Indian Country as the focus shifts from gaming to non-gaming business ventures. He is currently the Board Treasure at Tacoma Goodwill and is a member of the Board at Mary Bridge Children's Foundation, UWT Milgard School of Business BAB and a Trustee at Tacoma Community College. He has a B.S., from Boston College, a J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and an M.B.A. from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
