Biography

Anne Pearson is a policy advisor with Public Health - Seattle & King County where she works with the agency's chronic disease programs to develop and implement policy, systems and environmental changes in the areas of tobacco control and obesity prevention. Prior to joining Public Health, Anne served as Senior Legal Counsel for Policy in the New York City Health Department's Bureau of Tobacco Control. In that capacity, she developed and implemented legislative and regulatory strategies to lower the prevalence of smoking in adults and youth, reduce exposure to secondhand smoke and curb illegal sales of cigarettes.

Before working with local health departments, Anne was Chief of the Health and Reproductive Rights Section in the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office and practiced poverty law.
