Professor Smith is a partner at Coulter Martin Smith and specializes in the procurement of trademarks, strategic branding, and trademark prosecution. He represents clients in disputes involving claims of trademark infringement and unfair competition as well as in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Chad is a former Trademark Examining Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has over a decade of experience handling both domestic and international trademark portfolios for large and small clients. Professor Smith is also a board member of Washington Lawyers for the Arts.
