Biography

Katherine (Kate) White Tudor runs her own lobbying firm in Olympia, Washington, representing health care clients before the legislative and executive branches of state government. Her major clients include the Washington Association of Community and Migrant Health Centers, with members operating 140 clinics statewide to serve patients regardless of their ability to pay, and Compassion and Choices of Washington, which advocates for patient decisions at the end of life. She also serves on the Western Institutional Review Board, protecting the rights of human subjects participating in research around the world.

Following graduation from Stanford Law School, Professor Tudor clerked for Judge Tena Campbell of the Federal District of Utah, and began her career as a commercial litigation associate at Smyser, Kaplan & Veselka, LLP in Houston, Texas. She most enjoyed representing a major teaching hospital at the Texas Medical Center in its medical malpractice cases, and she served on the hospital's clinical ethics committee for several years. She later represented health care providers in business transactions and regulatory compliance matters before returning to Washington State and her passion for political advocacy and health care policy matters.
