Professor Shanahan is house counsel for Blue North Fisheries, Inc. the largest freezer longline fishing company operating in Alaska. His current practice focuses on the business and legal aspects of fisheries and maritime companies. He is licensed in the state and federal courts in Washington as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Shanahan was an associate and partner at Bauer Moynihan & Johnson, LLP before making the transition to house counsel. He litigated corporate, insurance, transportation, injury, employment, and regulatory issues while in private practice. Professor Shanahan joined the Seattle University Adjunct Faculty in 1997.
