Biography

Before coming to Seattle University, Barbara Swatt Engstrom was a reference librarian and adjunct professor at the University of Utah College of Law. Ms. Swatt teaches Legal Research Methods and Advanced Electronic Legal Research. She co-developed and teaches the asynchronous legal research class, the first exclusively on-line class offered at Seattle University. Ms. Swatt presents at CLEs and conferences and coordinates the Bridge the Legal Research Gap program each year. She has held leadership positions in the Law Librarians of Puget Sound and the Western Pacific chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries. She is an active member of member of the American Association of Law Libraries and the Washington State Bar Association. Barbara joined the faculty in 2004.
