Charles Routh
Adjunct Professor

Charles Routh is an attorney and owner with Garvey Schubert Barer in their Seattle, Washington office. He spent the academic year, 2006-2007 on a Fulbright Grant in Bratislava, Slovakia, where he taught International Business Transactions, International Dispute Resolution, Comparative Law and related courses at the Law Faculty of Comenius University. Mr. Routh's practice has included counseling business clients on many aspects of international law, including international business, international trade, international antitrust, transnational dispute resolution and U.S. Customs law. He received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his law degree from the University of Washington where he was selected as Order of the Coif and Articles Editor of the Washington Law Review. Mr. Routh has been an Officer and a member of the Council of the Section of International Law of the American Bar Association, past Chair of its Far Eastern Law and International Litigation Committees, Technology and Membership Officer and Council Committee Liaison. He was previously Chair of the Seattle King County Bar Association International Law Section. He is a frequent speaker at international business and law conferences and is the Chair of the ALI-ABA Annual Program on Fundamentals of International Business Transactions. He has worked in law firms in Tokyo, Japan and in Sydney, Australia.
