During 2003, Mr. Eddy served as Resident Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Justice, Jakarta, Indonesia, dealing principally with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing issues. Prior to 2003 while in private practice, Mr. Eddy was a partner in Riddell Williams, P.S. (practicing as Graham & James/Riddell Williams 1996-2000), Bogle & Gates PLLC, and Garvey, Schubert, Adams & Barer, specializing in complex corporate and commercial transactions. His work included representation of Citibank, N.A., and other institutional lenders and clients. Mr. Eddy served as chairman of Riddell Williams’ business practice from 1999-2002, and as a member of the firm’s executive committee. He also has served as a member of the executive committee of the Business Law Section of the Washington State Bar Association and as chairman of the section’s Committee on Third-Party Legal Opinions. He currently is a member of its Uniform Commercial Code Committee, and chairs the sub-committee evaluating proposed revisions to Article 2. From 1969-80, Mr. Eddy taught contracts and commercial law at a number of law schools, including Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia (formerly Haile Selassie I. University) and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the tenured faculty. He visited with us previously in the spring of 2004, teaching commercial law courses. He is admitted to practice in California, North Carolina, Washington and Oregon.
