Initially, Professor Holland worked at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. He was deputy director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic at Georgetown University from 1994-99, when he became director of the Child Law Clinic at Loyola University Chicago. In 2001, Professor Holland joined the University of Michigan Law School as a clinical assistant professor in the Child Advocacy Law Clinic. He has written and taught in the area of juvenile justice.
