Seattle University Law Review

The Seattle University Law Review is a legal periodical that publishes research by legal scholars and provides valuable educational experiences for the student members. The Law Review strives to publish articles that will be useful research tools for students, attorneys, judges, and legal scholars, and to provide commentary on issues that will facilitate growth and development of the law. The student members' participation in the writing assignments and the editorial process is designed to improve writing skills and research techniques and to instill self-discipline and analytical proficiency through the hard work required to publish quality research works.

The Law Review experience is highly demanding, yet equally rewarding. The skills gained throughout the process of producing a student article and assisting in the publication of the journal are recognized assets throughout the legal community. In addition to the personal benefits, members advance the overall standing of the Law School while making a contribution to legal scholarship.

The Fall Issue of Volume 1 in 1977 marked the beginning of our publication in earnest as the University of Puget Sound Law Review. On August 19, 1994, the Law School was transferred to Seattle University under the stewardship of SU President Father William J. Sullivan, S.J.

The Law School joined the Seattle University main campus for Fall Term, 1999. Housed in the beautiful Sullivan Hall, the Seattle University School of Law continues to advance legal education, writing, and scholarship.

This publication was previously known as the University of Puget Sound Law Review (Volumes 1-17).
