Law School Turns 35

Seattle University School of Law has changed a lot in the past 35 years. Now it’s time to honor the history, celebrate the achievements and look toward the future of the School of Law.

35 Years

Throughout the 2007-08 academic year, Seattle University School of Law will commemorate the 35th anniversary of its founding year of 1972/73.

Celebrations

April 25 Gala

Seattle University School of Law will celebrate 35 years of standing for excellence and reaching for justice with a gala celebration on Friday, April 25, 2008 at Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle.

The evening will feature The Seattle Symphony Orchestra performing Aaron Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” under the direction of Music Director Gerard Schwarz with a special guest narrator. A formal dinner and dancing will follow.

Kickoff Reception in Tacoma

We’ve changed a lot in the past 35 years. But we have never forgotten our Tacoma roots. More than 500 people from the law school community turned out to celebrate those roots at a spectacular reception at the Museum of Glass on October 17, 2007. It was a great night of reminiscing about where the law school started and looking ahead to where it’s going. Alumni reconnected with classmates and their professors, and the law school recognized the core group of founding faculty that got the law school off the ground.

Look for coverage of the event in the winter 2007 issue of the Lawyer.
