Law school welcomes diverse Class of 2013, new faculty
(August 24, 2010) Seattle University School of Law kicked off the 2010-11 academic year with the start of fall semester Aug. 23, welcoming 330 new 1Ls.
The incoming class is outstanding and diverse, representing more than 110 undergraduate programs from around the country. Thirty percent are from outside the state. The average age is 27, with students ranging in age from 20 to 56. The class of 2013 is half women and 27 percent students of color.
In addition to new Dean Mark Niles, who assumed his role July 1, the law school welcomes two new faculty members this fall: John Eason, who joined the faculty from Tulane and is teaching in the area of trusts and estates, and Sara Rankin, who joins the Legal Writing faculty.
