New Equal Justice Leadership Academy ready to launch

(Oct. 2, 2012) A new Washington State Equal Justice Leadership Academy co-sponsored by the law school will bring together members of the state equal justice community and leaders from community-based organizations to create a broader, more diverse, skilled and effective community of equal justice leaders.  The Leadership Academy will be facilitated by the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law, which has designed an innovative equal justice-based leadership curriculum.

The law school is partnering with the Washington State Access to Justice Board and the Office of Civil Legal Aid to host the innovative training program in 2013.  A generous donation from an alumnus and his wife will enable participants to participate in the Leadership Academy at no charge.

Seattle University School of Law Alumni who are based in Washington State and who currently hold leadership positions in their respective community-based organizations or civil equal justice organizations are encouraged to apply.  Applications will be available in early October at www.wsba.org/atj. The deadline to apply is Oct. 31. You may also contact Allison Durazzi at WSBA for more information or call (206) 733-5942.
