Registration Dates and Deadlines
Registration takes place three times a year. Registration for summer takes place in March, registration for fall takes place in May, and registration for spring takes place in November. Each registration period has a webpage with important dates, information and a registration newsletter.

Date and Deadline Policies
Students are responsible for knowing the dates, times and deadlines for registration. Students who miss a registration appointment are not guaranteed the registration priority they would have received at their assigned appointment time. Students who miss a lottery deadline are not guaranteed inclusion in the lottery.
Students are also responsible for knowing the deadlines for enrollment changes. Students attempting to make enrollment changes outside of the published dates or deadlines may have their request to add a class or withdraw from a class denied.
The following dates, times and deadlines are published each semester:
Registration dates are published on the fall, spring, summer and intersession registration webpages and are included in the registration newsletters distributed to students by email. Students are responsible for checking lottery sign-up deadlines and appointment dates and times. Missing a deadline or appointment time can mean missing your opportunity to register for the classes you want. If you find you've missed a deadline or appointment time contact the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible.
Add/Drop deadlines are published in the Academic Calendar. You can add or drop classes online until the Friday of the first week of classes. After the Friday add/drop deadline, you cannot make registration changes online. After the add/drop deadline late registration and withdrawal policies apply.
Late Registration Deadline
Late registration deadlines are published in the Academic Calendar. After the end of the add/drop deadline, students may add a class, with the instructor's permission, until the Friday of the third week of classes. Late registration is not allowed during the summer semester. See the Late Registration Page for more information.
Withdrawal deadlines are published in the Academic Calendar. During the fall and spring semesters, students may withdraw from courses by notifying the Law School Registrar before the end of the fifth week of classes. During the summer semester, students may withdraw from courses by notifying the Law School Registrar before the end of the third week of classes. After the withdrawal deadline, students must receive the approval of the professor and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs to withdraw from a course.
