Using Laptops for Presentation
Guest speakers can make arrangements through Events Administration to either have a laptop provided, or to obtain assistance with using their own laptop for presentations.
Using your own Laptop or Tablet for Presentations
Due to the sure variety of emerging mobile devices and display port technologies on the market today, SU can no longer guarantee that we have the right adapter in stock for every device. Therefore, the success of your presentation may depend on you bringing the correct adapter for your specific device with you.
SU law school podiums come equipped with a VGA connection, a 3.5mm audio jack, and an Ethernet cable that you can use to connect a laptop or tablet to our podium systems. If your device does not have these specific ports (many new devices do not), you will need to bring a compatible adapter with you. (Ask an electronics store if you need help finding the correct adapter for your exact make and model of device.)
If you do not have an Ethernet port on your device and you wish to display content from the Internet, please ask that a Guest Wireless Account be setup for you before you arrive.
Using an SU law school provided Laptop
Law School laptops (available for guest speakers only) are Windows-based and will have Internet Explorer, Firefox, Office 2010, Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, QuickTime, and VLC Player installed. Please bring your compatible files on a USB thumb drive.
