A great partnership
Dean Mark Niles, Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell ’87 and University of Alaska Anchorage Provost Michael Driscoll gathered for a reception in Anchorage in June. Dean Niles presented a CLE, followed by a reception attended by alumni and friends of the law school and featuring the governor as the keynote speaker. The Study Law in Alaska Program, in partnership with the University of Alaska Anchorage, has been in existence for nearly a decade and is directed by Stephanie Nichols ’06 . The law school is committed to being a resource for the state of Alaska, the only state without a law school.¬†(Photo courtesy of the Governor's Office.)

July 2011

From Dean Mark Niles

This has been a great summer for the law school. We launched our Summer in D.C. Program, had a successful event with members of the alumni and legal communities in Anchorage and welcomed a great crop of our Class of 2014 who chose to start their legal studies in the summer. I am also pleased to highlight the faculty's move to provide opportunities for our exceptional Legal Writing Faculty members to attain tenure. This is further recognition of the importance of this program and of the excellence of the faculty colleagues who teach legal writing. I wish members of the class of 2011 good luck on the various bar exams they are taking this summer and encourage alumni to support them in their endeavors.
