In 1956, Benjamin Bloom, an educational psychologist, developed his classification of learning objectives, which became a key concept in educational theory. In the late nineties, Lorin Anderson revised the taxonomy to include categories for the digital age, making it a very useful tool for assessing technical competencies.

Livescribe
The pen and pencil have finally found their place in the digital age. The Pulse Smartpen allows students to take traditional hand-written notes on special paper. At the same time, the pen records these notes digitally while also synchronizing audio recordings to what they have written. After class, students can replay any part of a recorded lecture by simply tapping on that section of their notes.
