Tai Chi on the Go
This summer faculty and staff from our law school are invited to enroll in a customized 'Tai Chi on the Go' workshop designed to introduce you to exercises you can do in your office or living room. These exercises will help you relax and hopefully address many of the problems caused by repetitive computer work. Classes begin Thursday, June 18th at noon. To enroll or ask questions, contact Stephanie Zimmerman, zimmermans@seattleu.edu

Another way to search
A new search engine called WolframAlpha has been launched which highlights factual and computational information. Launched on May 18th, you can ask WolframAlpha a question in plain English like "How hot is the sun?" and it will tell you the answer (though some topics are still in progress). While it probably won't stand to dethrone Google, if you need a quick answer to a question, here is another place to try.

Kindling
Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio will begin offering undergraduate textbooks on Amazon's Kindle ebook device later this year. Speculation about its introduction into the law school environment are somewhat bleak, due mainly to the cost of casebooks.

Goodbye to Stoo Sepp
Stoo Sepp, our instructional technologist, has left his position to further pursue his doctorate in Australia. We have already started the job search and interview process for finding his replacement. We hope to have that person in place this summer.
