Incarcerated Mothers Advocacy Project
WHO WE ARE: IMAP seeks to provide general legal information and facilitated referrals to currently and formerly incarcerated mothers in an informal setting run by law students.
MISSION: IMAP is a coalition of law students, social service providers, activists, and formerly incarcerated women who seek to change the rights afforded incarcerated and previously incarcerated women in Washington.
SERVICES WE PROVIDE: IMAP offers monthly prison presentations, library office hours at Washington Corrections Center for Women (Purdy), and legal clinics. Law students accept general legal questions about family law and dependency at these locations, research the questions, and return the answers the following month.
