Dell has recalled batteries that were delivered with some of the Latitude, Inspiron and XPS laptops between April 1, 2004 and July 18, 2006. The recall is due to the potential to overheat causing a possible fire hazard. To check if you have one of these batteries, look at the part number on the back of the battery. You will need to remove the battery to see this label. Please visit www.dellbatteryprogram.com for more information if your battery contains one of the following codes (as demonstrated by the image below):
