- Students give up social networks for Lent – CNN reports on students giving up websites like MySpace for Lent, read more here.
- Limits to Multitasking –The New York Times recently reported on a number of studies which suggest that multitasking decreases our ability to process information. Read the entire article here.
- Legal Education and Technology – A new White Paper from the Berkman Center at Harvard reports that many lawyers feel they lacked critical technological skills after completing their law degree. You can read the paper here.
- CALI Conference – The theme for the CALI conference this year is Legal Education and IT: Mirage or Oasis? A preliminary schedule has been posted here.
- Open Access Journals – Wired News reports on efforts to require open access to federally funded research within six months of the publication date. Read the whole story here.
- Turnitin Lawsuit – Turnitin, a plagiarism-detection service, is being sued by two unnamed students citing copyright infringement. Turnitin automatically adds student papers to a database where it will be used to check future papers. The students claim that they submitted papers to Turnitin with instructions that they not be stored in the company’s archive, but Turnitin allegedly did so. You can read the story here.
