Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2008
A new version of similar legislation introduced in 2006. The Act would eradicate favoritism and discrimination by telecommunications companies against Web content or applications.

Twitter
Professors have begun experimenting with using Twitter as an educational tool. Twitter, a service akin to a micro-blog, allows professors to send short notes to students. Students discovered that ‘twittering’ kept them informed and brought them closer together as a class.

Google is working with major libraries around the world to scan the full text of books to add to its online index. The University of Michigan has recently scanned one million books.
