Should you already own a relatively new laptop or choose not to purchase a Dell through the student program, your portable computer must meet the following minimum specifications. Please keep in mind, Apple computers (MAC) are not supported at the School of Law. MAC OS do not work with some of the School of Law’s specific applications. This is not a comment on Apple computers. It is simply our policy for the sake of consistency and ensuring we are able to provide the best support possible.

* The School of Law recommends Windows XP Professional Operating System. XP Pro has features necessary to allow for student printing on campus. Windows VISTA 32 bit OS does work but still has small problems with printing. Apple Macintosh operating systems are not supported and are not compatible with certain School of Law specific applications or other resources. Apple Macintosh with the intel chip can have windows XP PRO or VISTA with BOOTCAMP only.
If you plan to buy a laptop with an AMD processor, please use the above chart to verify your processor speed and simply disregard the processor series (Pentium III, IV, M).

It is recommended that you purchase your laptop through our Laptop Purchase Program. For financial assistance in purchasing your laptop, look into our financial aid options for incoming students. Also, Please make sure your computer is compatible to connect to the network.
