From the Dean

Welcome to Seattle University School of Law, one of the nation’s most vibrant learning centers. Within the walls of Sullivan Hall, a beautiful and technologically sophisticated home, you will find a diverse and engaging intellectual community dedicated to fostering the finest qualities of leadership and service: clear and critical thinking, effective communication, wise judgment, ethical behavior, and a charitable spirit. Inspired by our Jesuit traditions, Seattle University School of Law fosters in its students a concern for justice and the competence to promote it. Our faculty and our student body, both among the most diverse and talented in the nation, enjoy a unique partnership where learning is not limited by the classroom doors.

Supported by a staff whose service is second to none, faculty and students work together in a variety of academic and co-curricular activities. Among them are outstanding legal writing and clinical programs that allow students to "hit the ground running," an Access to Justice Institute that facilitates pro bono activities, moot court and trial advocacy programs that hone legal skills, International Human Rights initiatives that create a global classroom, and a new Center on Corporations, Law & Society that, among other activities, provides a training academy each summer for corporate directors and their lawyers. Further, our alumni and other friends of the law school are a vital and ongoing part of our educational program, actively involved in the life of the law school through Continuing Legal Education programs, mentoring programs, and host of other activities.

No matter how you measure it, the Law School is on an exciting upward trajectory. Whether you're a law graduate, a prospective student, a current member of our legal education community, or simply a special friend, I invite you to get involved in what I believe is the most exciting era in the history of the Seattle University School of Law. To find out more about what's going on and ways you can be a part of it, please browse this site, visit us, or contact me directly at ktesty@seattleu.edu.
