Telephone Conferencing
In Classrooms
In Sullivan Hall, each of our classrooms are now setup with an embedded telephone conferencing system. This works with our classroom sound systems, allowing a classroom of students and speakers to have a two-way conversation with other parties connected by phone. Only 7 remote parties can participate by phone, all calls must be initiated from the classroom, and long distance charges will apply. To start this process, please make arrangements through your administrative assistant, Event Administration or Student Life. Logins to online request forms are restricted: Telephone Conference Request Form.
In Small Conference Rooms
Analog phone lines in Sullivan Hall conference rooms (Dean's Conference Room, 431, 435, and the Library Conference Room) are similar to those in the classrooms, allowing for 7 remote parties to participate in a conference call initiated by Seattle University. In addition to this service being always available from these rooms, there are portable speaker phone systems that can be setup by request to allow for small groups of people to participate in the same conversation. To request one of these speaker phones to be setup for a conference, fill out our Telephone Conference Request Form
In Offices
For questions on these services, you may be better served by the Help Desk / Computing Services as they have more managerial control of the Sullivan Phone system than Instructional Technology. However, here is some useful information.
Most office phones are digital and come equipped with a speaker phone feature. This allows more than one person in your office to participate with a remote caller. However, if you need to dial more than one party into your call, contact the law school technology Help Desk for further information.
800 Number Services
If your remote parties would prefer to dial into a number themselves, an 800 number conference services is available. For information on this, please contact the Help Desk / Computer Services for dialing instruction and service payment details.
Special Note: Though Instructional Technology can assist with classroom and conference room calls, we do not in fact manage the phone network and conferencing services. For more specific information on conferencing and telephone services in Sullivan Hall, please contact the Help Desk / Computer Services. For information on the use of these services with classroom audio systems, contact Instructional Technology.
