Doctoral Candidate, City University of New York

Neoliberal Governance Problems and
the Invention of Chronic Homelessness

Mr. Willse's talk will take up ways of thinking about welfare policy and administration in terms of cultural knowledge production. Through an examination of recent federal policy targeting "chronic homelessness," he will suggest that the production and circulation of knowledge are central to neoliberal strategies for addressing social problems and managing "problem populations."
