Contracts Law: Where and Why Your Contracts Class Matters

12:00 p.m.  -  12:50 p.m.
Location: Room C5

A Conversation with Dean Kellye Testy and Merf Ehman of Columbia Legal Services

ATJI brings you the second of its "Speaker Series for 1Ls" which is intended to help forge the connection between 1L courses and the practice of law, particularly in the public interest field. This semester, the focus is on Contracts Law.

Come join our own Dean Kellye Testy, Scholar and Professor of Contracts Law, and Merf Ehman, long-time housing and consumer attorney now at Columbia Legal Services, for a lively and informative discussion about Contracts Law within a social justice context. Discussion will include how Contracts Law is crucial to furthering equal justice for low-income people.

While this is geared for first year law students, all are welcome to attend! Pizza will be provided.

Merf Ehman is the Managing Attorney in the Seattle Office of Columbia Legal Services (CLS) where she focuses on systemic advocacy in the areas of housing, consumer and civil rights law. Prior to joining CLS, Merf managed King County Bar Association's Housing Justice Project (HJP) which is a court-based pro bono eviction prevention project, where she recruited, trained and mentored volunteer attorneys and law students.
