Partnering with Criminal Defense Attorneys in Murder Cases
Light refreshments will be provided.
Come hear about the Criminal Justice Society's "Murder 101" Project-a collaboration with local criminal defense attorneys working on cases.
"Murder 101" was inspired by CJS Club President Donna Larsen's experience last summer volunteering to help a local attorney in his representation of a 17-year-old boy accused of first degree murder. The attorney Donna was working with had taken the case pro bono and was very enthusiastic about Donna's assistance. Thanks to vigorous representation, the client was acquitted!
Participants, including Donna Larsen (2L) and Justin Wei (1L), will share their experiences working on real murder cases and talk about the lessons they learned about our criminal justice system. If you are interested in learning more about what it's like to work on a real murder trial, please come to the discussion on Monday.
For more information, please contact James Tan at tanj@seattleu.edu.
Email Donna Larsen at larsend2@seattleu.edu for more information about "Murder 101."
This event is part of Access to Justice Institute's Social Justice Mondays.
