SJW Kick-Off: What is Social Justice?

12:00 p.m.  -  12:50 p.m.
Location: Room C5

Social Justice Week begins with a discussion about what is social justice. Ada Shen-Jaffe, ATJI's Distinguished Practitioner in Residence, will facilitate a discussion on how to define social justice and why it is important to define. Then, the Social Justice Coalition (SJC) Steering Committee will present SJC's "working" definition and provide an update on the Social Justice Proposal: Recommendations for advancing social justice in the law school.

Pizza will be provided.

This event is being offered as part of the Social Justice Mondays program, a weekly series that aims to create a forum to bring awareness and encourage discussion about the many issues that surround the idea of "social justice" in order to help strengthen the social justice community of students, faculty and staff at the law school.

Social Justice Mondays is brought to you by the Access to Justice Institute, the Social Justice Coalition, the Student Bar Association, and the Center for Global Justice.
