Biography

Mike is the Executive Director of the Washington State Public Employment Relations Commission, the independent state agency responsible for resolving disputes involving the approximately 475,000 public employees with collective bargaining rights working for the state, municipalities, higher education and K-12.

Mike has over 30 years of public sector labor and employment law experience. Prior to coming to PERC in 2011, Mike was the Deputy Director of the Washington State Department of Personnel, the central human resources agency for state government. He served for over 14 years in the Attorney General's Office, the last four years as the Chief of the Labor and Personnel Division.

Mike serves as the President of the Association of Labor Relations Agencies. Mike is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law and Boise State University. An Olympia resident, Mike has also served on the Board of Directors of Pope John Paul II High School in Lacey.
