Law Alumni Board

Overview

• The Law Alumni Board (LAB), serves as an advisory body to the dean and to the Office of Alumni Affairs on initiatives and activities designed to strengthen relationships in building an inclusive law school community of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. 
• Members engage alumni in support of the school’s mission to educate powerful advocates for justice.
• Membership is open to all law school alumni. Contact us if you are interested in joining LAB.

Board committee descriptions

Development Committee

• Works with the Office of Advancement to develop and implement plans for generating gifts from alumni and friends to support law school initiatives.

Mentoring and Professional Development Committee

• Work with the Office of Advancement and the Center for Professional Development (CPD) to help law students achieve their professional goals.
• Advise dean on programs to better prepare students to practice immediately upon graduation.

Outreach Committee

• Develop and implement policies for reaching out to and effectively engaging law school alumni.
• Areas of focus include alumni events, alumni honors, rules and procedures for LAB recruiting and membership, and outreach beyond the alumni community.
• Work closely with the Professional Development/Mentorship Committee to encourage alumni to assist current students and recent graduates with their professional development.

Regional and South Sound Committee

• Creates best practices for establishing and strengthening regional chapters, with particular emphasis in the South Sound area.
• Alumni communities gather in many cities across the country including Anchorage, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, San Francisco, Tacoma, and Washington, D.C.
