The James E. Bond ABA Moot Court Competition is open to eligible Legal Writing II students only. The competition takes place annually in September and October.
The James E. Bond ABA Moot Court Competition shall determine those competitors who compete at ABA Nationals. The number of competitors selected for the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition shall be subject to approval of the Executive Committee and ABA Competition rules. There are six competitors who, typically, form two teams of three individuals. The top six finalists from the James E. Bond ABA Moot Court Competition will be offered positions on the team. If any of the top six competitors decline the offer, or refuse to comply with the requirements of the offer, then the individual with the next highest score in the James E. Bond competition will be offered the opened position.
