Class Rank release

  • Class rank is released:
    • Graduates and upper-level students – after fall and spring semesters
    • First-year students – after spring and summer semesters
  • The Registrar will email all students with their individual class ranks
  • Cutoffs for the top 10, 25, 50 and 75 percent

Request a Class Rank Letter

  • Lists your most recent official class rank and explains ranking dates and policies.
  • Submit a Document Request Form or email the Registrar (must come from your Seattle University email account).
  • You may ask that your most current class rank is included in a Letter of Good Standing or a Graduation Verification. On the Document Request Form, state "include class rank" in the comments section or include in your email request.

Fall Ranking

Three ranks are released after all Fall Semester grades have been posted:

Fall Second Year Class Rank – for all 2L students who completed Fall Semester

Fall Third/Fourth Year Class Rank – for all 3L/4L students who completed Fall Semester but did not graduate in December

Preliminary Graduate Rank – for all students who graduated in August or December. Final Graduate Class Rank for August and December graduates cannot be calculated until Spring Semester grades have posted.

Note: First Year students do not receive a Fall Semester class rank

Spring Ranking

Four ranks are released after all Spring Semester grades have been posted:

Spring First Year Class Rank – for all 1L students who completed the majority of their first year courses 

Spring Second Year Class Rank – for all 2L students who completed Fall or Spring semesters

Spring Third/Fourth Year Class Rank – for all 3L/4L students who completed the Fall or Spring semesters but did not graduate in December or May

Final Graduate Rank – for all students who graduated in August, December or May

Hours are subject to change during exams, holidays, and summer session. Changes will be posted outside of the entrance to the Administrative Offices.
